The spills have been accumulating. So much so that they’ve actually created quite a digital puddle oin the DRAFTS section of my blog :-)
For a little while now, all of my Diigo social bookmarks that I’ve tagged for auto-posting – the ones with the hashtag #LiquidNetworkSpill – have been showing up in my WordPress dashboard in an unexpected way. Instead of getting weekly drafts, I’ve been getting daily drafts that show up in the morning and the afternoon.
Well, I finally discovered the problem. In order to get these settings:
…you have to have the following configuration, as backwards and confusing it that seems.
Weird, right? It’s probably just a coding error on Diigo’s part, but until they fix it, this is my work around.
(Though Diigo probably gave me a heads-up that this could be a problem. Take a look at the settings screenshot above to see if you can tell where this is going…)As you can see by the image to the right, the single word “#LiquidNetworkSpill” is spilling out of the boxes that my website theme creates as it
The screenshot on the right is from my homepage. As you can see, the single word “#LiquidNetworkSpill” is spilling out of the boxes that my website theme creates as it tiles all of the posts for visitors to browse. Ironic, I know :-)
So my work around for this will be to change the title of the posts to have separate words for the “Liquid Network Spill”. That should keep the title text within their containers.
Sure, I’m giving up having a pretty unique hashtag on the web that would stand out in search results, but all is not lost. I’ll just modify the WordPress publication settings for each post to include that hashtag when the blog post leaves the draft queue.
Guess it’s just a day full of work arounds :-)
So without further ado, here comes the spill!
